Sports Editor Senior Jamel Foster stands at 5’ 11’ and weighs 180 pounds. Playing football and basketball for the high school, Foster captains both teams and helps lead them to accomplish goals. For the football team, Foster plays wide receiver and linebacker. On the basketball team he can play either point guard or shooting guard. His dad, Jermaine Foster, was the reason he fell in love with sports. “He’s always been there to teach me the game and not to make the same mistakes he made when he was my age,” Jamel said. Growing up he looked up to Ray Lewis, a linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens. By Carly Guise
Editor-in-Chief For some, an ACL injury and no sports for a year may have the end of all things. For Phil Douglass, though, it was only the closing of one window that led to the opening of another. Today, Phil is an intern at Studio 117 - a music studio in the heart of York City - but at the beginning of his high school career, the sports he played were everything. “I had no intention of doing music at all until I got hurt playing football. Sports was the only thing I wanted to do,” the Red Lion junior said. “Just sports. But I got hurt and I couldn’t do anything, so I went to music.” By Cora Beyer
Staff Writer Look at Jenna Kehoe. Standing at five feet six inches, golden curls falling neatly, and bright blue eyes that shine like spotlights. Her radiant smile lights up the room, as she exudes care and bravery. Standing next to her, always glued to her side, is a mirror image of herself. Hailey Kehoe holds the same warmth and identical curls frame her face. The sisters are never seen apart, almost like creating two halves of a whole. However, this perfect bond was almost broken four years ago when Jenna sat clutching her sister’s hand as she struggled on a hospital bed. Every month, the Rotary Club of Red Lion and Dallastown chooses two Red Lion students to be honored at one of their meetings. Students Zaire Roberts and Brady Smith have been chosen for the month of April.

Staff Writer Standing in the Baltimore-Washington International Airport with bug spray, a water bottle, and her Bible, junior Ashlyn Smith was ready for her four and a half hour flight to the Punta Cana airport in the Dominican Republic. From Feb. 21 to March 5, her mission was to distribute necessary supplies and share the gospel with the Dominican children and teenagers, with the help of 18 others from the Christ American Baptist Church in York, PA. |
